1. Taking Screenshot of Entire Screen

This is the most simple and easiest way to take screenshot on your mac. You just have to press these keys,

"Shift+Command+3" 

The screenshot will appear as an image on your desktop.

But, if you don't want to take screenshot of entire screen then what should you do?

Don't worry you can also take the screenshot of a specific area on your screen on mac.


2. Taking Screenshot of Specific Area on Screen


To capture a specific section of your screen, press these keys

"Shift+Command+4"


A crosshair will appear on your screen.
Take that crosshair to the point where you want to start the selection of your screenshot, then click and make a selection by dragging the crosshair to the point where you want to end the selection and release your trackpad or mouse. You can also press the Escape key to cancel.


3. Taking Screenshot of specific window

To capture a specific window, press these keys

"Shift+Command+4" 

Then, press the

"Space bar" 

The crosshair icon will change into a camera icon. Now place the camera icon over the specific window which you want to capture. This will highlight that specific window. Then click your trackpad or mouse to take the screenshot.


All of your screenshots will be saved to your desktop.

To save them manually or copy the screenshot, you have to add one more key to your key combination while taking the screenshot like this

"Control+Shift+Command+4"


This will copy your screenshot to the clipboard and you can paste it wherever you want!
